FOTC Members Speaking at BICSI Winter Conference

January 13, 2017 -- Arlington, VA -- Members of the TIA's Fiber Optics Technology Consortium (FOTC) will speak at the 2017 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition, taking place at the Tampa Convention Center, January 22-26. They will present at the following sessions:

- Tuesday, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. - Best Practices for Networking Intelligent Devices: Zone Cabling and Coverage Area Planning. Valerie Maguire, Siemon, will discuss how Zone cabling is ideally suited for the convergence of voice, data, Wi-Fi & intelligent building device applications over one managed network.

- Tuesday, 1:15 - 2:15 p.m. - Infrastructure Challenges and Solutions for IoT and Intelligent Building Integration. Carol Everett Oliver, Legrand, and Farukh Aslam - Sinclair Holdings, will will define emerging IoT and Intelligent/Smart Building trends, infrastructure challenges and provide a better understanding of the solutions and standards being developed.

- Wednesday, 9:00 -10:00 a.m. - Taking Control of DC Cabling for Optimal Performance. Kamlesh Patel, CommScope discuss the growing use of cross-connect ODFs in data center main distribution areas.

- Wednesday, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Testing Parallel Optics. Ed Gastle, Viavi Solutions, will review the state of current standards and makes recommendations on best practices when installing or maintaining networks with parallel optics.
